Shilo Hendrix, Karmelo Anthony, and the embrace of race-politics
There is no equivalence in the respective actions Shilo Hendrix and Karmelo Anthony will be remembered for. Hendrix called a child a “nigger”. She was supremely rude. Anthony murdered a young man - needlessly and callously. Anthony’s actions were life-ending for his victim, life-defining for himself, and life-destroying for his victim’s family. Hendrix’s act was embarrassing for her, and quite forgettable for the child.
A GiveSendGo fundraiser was established to defend Anothny. It’s raised over $500K. Hendrix started her own fundraiser with the stated goal of relocating her family after the fallout from the viral video of her calling a child a “nigger”. Hendrix’s fundraiser is north of $600K at this point, and fastly rising. A full-embrace of racial identity politics is on parade in the comments sections of both fundraisers. That is, unfortunately, old hat for the people donating to Anthony. Black identity politics is the rule in America. For confirmation, look no further than the reliably north of 90% black support for Democrats election after election in this country. The rapturous embrace of identity politics in Hendrix’s fundraiser is troubling for its relative novelty.
Despite the litany of race-hate fueled comments in both fundraisers, we’d be fools to think everyone donating to Anthony or Hendrix is motivated by malice. There is some nuance to both streams of motivation that grace demands we acknowledge. It is entirely reasonable to think that many people donating to Anthony’s fund are legitimately concerned about Anthony getting a fair trial. Afterall, our media has been working overtime these past fifteen years to convince blacks that their condition vis a vis the justice system has remained static 1910 - Present. I have a deeper understanding of the myriad reasons why one would donate to Hendrix absent racial hatred, so those I will treat some of those reasons in greater detail.
Hendrix’s fundraiser was born nearly a month after Anthony’s fundraiser found every white person paying attention to the matter aghast that so many people had given to the defense of a seemingly clear-cut case of pure murder - and that many had announced they were doing so in the name of unbridled race hatred. Always shocking, never surprising. Whites have been watching large numbers of blacks tribally unite around genuine scumbags for decades now. OJ Simpson and Michael Vick come to mind. There is a pattern of high-profile black criminals receiving unwavering support from a scandalously large percentage of black America. Many whites donating to Hendrix surely thought “you people get behind the shittiest among you - we can play that game, too.” I’d say that motivation for donating is supremely base, and signals an embrace of identity politics among an increasing number of whites, and the possible main-streaming of the Woke-Right (more on that later).
Still others donating to Hendrix understood that she was likely to have her life pretty-well derailed by this incident absent some support. Hendrix wasn’t lying when in her fundraiser she stated that she’d need to move and put her children in new schools. Though her actions were profoundly rude, the punishment was not going to fit the offense. Whites have watched any number of other whites be made complete pariahs for racial indiscretions that go no further than words – while watching blacks receive rarely even a second look for similar offenses (see Nick Cannon’s stating that white people are “a little less [than human]”, and the complete absence of consequence). Fired from jobs. Expelled from schools. Whites committing verbal racial indiscretions are subject to merciless excommunication from “polite” society. Add to this the fact that whites are sick of lugging around the baggage attendant to the word “nigger”. Children are expected to say “the b-word” when referring to the word “bitch”. Whites are told we’re to have that same childishly deferential relationship to the word “nigger” - in any and all contexts, including directly quoting another person. Saying “the n-word” is the only socially acceptable way for a white person to ever refer to the word “nigger”. We’re aware that the expectation of infantilized language is a humiliation ritual meant to illustrate whites’ relegation to the kids’ table of social discourse. It’s reasonable to expect that some donating to Hendrix’s fundraiser thought “the word ‘nigger’ isn’t some magic spell that kills people - and I’m sick of pretending it is. We’re not watching someone else be ruined for saying the verboten word.”
Others donated in response to the words of the immigrant filming Hendrix. “That’s hate-speech, and you can be reported for this”. After watching monuments of the Founding Fathers ripped down, and our border be opened to legions of illegals, $10 is a small price of admission to join in the roar of “fuck you” to an immigrant telling us the limitations of our rights.
Further compelling many to give to Hendrix was the simple, mounting frustration self-respecting whites have with racial double-standard in this country, and the totem that has been made of black Americans - built on white abasement. This has been picking up steam for no less than 40 years. We watched Ice Cube call us “devils” and our women “cave bitches”, only to find him later both unrepentant, and the star of family films. We watched the absolute glee greeting OJ Simpson’s dodging justice after his savage murder of two whites. We lived through the BLM hysteria of 2020, and watched as society was shut down and our jobs made uncertain for COVID precautions, while gathering was encouraged for those “protesting for racial justice”. We watched statues of our national heroes torn down, and newspapers make the editorial choice to capitalize “Black”, while leaving “white” lowercase. We watched as Google inserted the special category of ‘Black owned business” into our search results, and a President attempt to dole out farm relief based on race - placing white farmers at the back of the line. We saw the media repeatedly make national headlines of instances of blacks being offended by whites, while episodes of dramatic black on white violence remained confined to the second page of the local paper. We watched an avalanche of claims of racial intimidation perpetrated by whites be breathlessly covered in the media, only to see these stories abandoned when proven to be hoxes. We saw videos of white students dressed down for daring to read in “multicultural spaces”. We watched the re-birth of segregated graduations and dorms - always at the behest of non-whites, never including exclusively white ceremonies or areas. We watched the NFL adopt the singing of “the black National Anthem” at games, and the patronizing slogan ‘End Racism’ painted in the end-zones - knowing that was directed at us, as though we needed a constant reminder to exercise basic human decency. While being relentlessly clobbered with the “black lives matter” slogan, we watched national darling Snoop Dogg Crip-walk across the Super Bowl Halftime stage, throwing signs representing a gang that puts to far eclipses even the dreaded KKK in the number of blacks lives they’ve ended. We watched our schools force a philosophy of anti-white hatred on our children via Critical Race Theory. We were told that being a racist was just about the worst thing anyone could be - and then told “only whites are capable of racism”. After our nearly universal embrace of MLK’s vision of a meritocracy, we watched two wholly unimpressive women elevated to the positions of Vice President, and Supreme Court Justice - by virtue of their race. In the face of this fawning national effort to elevate, cater to, and otherwise fetishize black Americans, whites can’t get on social media without seeing another cell-phone video of a mob of black kids looting a store, or twerking on top of cop cars, or fighting one another at the mall, etc. We grow increasingly outraged by the mounting number of videos showing white children getting the shit beat out of them by groups of black children. Despite the constant chorus of “white supremacy”, we’re aware that in 80% of cases of interracial violence involving blacks and whites, whites are the victims. We’ve found it, as the saying goes, “all so tiresome”. Many donated to Hendrix just to applaud the glitch in the Matrix of racial double-standards her defense has come to symbolize.
With all the justifications for donating to Hendrix on the table, I’ll say why I did not give. Despite obviously sharing in the frustrations, I’m not going to reward a woman for calling a child a “nigger”. The act itself does not merit reward. There was a case to be made for donating to see her not being eaten alive by the Cancel Mob. By the time I saw her fund-raiser, she was quite safe from that fate. My contribution at that point would have been echoing a collective statement, and when I saw what that collective contained, I was not going to cast my lot into with a state-worshipping orgy of base racial hatred and historical revisionism. The Woke-Right exists, and they’ve found Hendrix’s donation-page their coming out party, with relentless professions of devotion to their Nazi retrotopia. If you want to know what’s coming if our social pendulum swings back too far, look no further than the comments on Hendrix’s donation page. “Monkies are Triggered”; “TND [total nigger death] Til They All Go Back”; “Uncle Dolf from Agartha”; and “HH” (Heil Hitler) are but four of any number of other such examples.
Anthony’s page too is rotten with donation names such as “Kracka Eliminator”; “Finna Pokey all da Whytiz” (“pokey” being a reference to the stabbing of Anthony’s victim); “Def to all Mayo Mutants”; and “YTs are Going Extinct Yay”. I encourage you to check these pages out for yourself. There’s so much more there to see if you need confirmation of just how ugly this all is.
Picking through the grime on both pages is a dark ride across the not-at-all subtle racism of the internet. It’s a frustrating exercise, because it provides no answers. We’ve no way of knowing what percentage of what we’re seeing represents actual Americans representing what their comments claim to represent (trolling is indeed a sacred exercise for some), and what percentage represent adversarial foreign bot accounts looking to exploit a weak point in American society.
Aware that we cannot know the origins of such comments on these two pages, we can be certain of a few things:
1) If all comments are legitimate (coming from actual people, for the purpose expressed) we’re looking at about 15,000 people who donated to these pages with racial animus as the motivating factor (that rough estimate is based on assuming $20 average donations, and roughly 1 in 5 donors expressing outright racial hatred). 15,000 people is an exceedingly small percentage of the American population. By comparison, there are more surviving attendees of the original Woodstock; more Americans who’ve survived being struck by lightening; and more Americans who’ve competed in an Ironman Triathlon. In short, there aren’t very many of these clowns.
2) Small groups of assholes can dominate the national conversation, if only they’re loud enough. One thing we know, assholes love to be loud. We need to be ready and willing to shut them up when they start. It’s never been the time for timidity. It’s certainly not that time now.
3) The Woke-Right is a thing. They are the “HH 14/88” crowd you see on Hendrix’s page, and all over X. They aren’t all bots. They’re quite real, quite stupid, and quite self-assured. You can see them verbally stroking one another on such pages as this. The increasing irrelevance of the Woke-Left should not inspire sanguinity about the fate of the Woke-Right. They don’t suffer the disadvantage of having their wagon hitched to the dying star of Gender Ideology. They’re a more masculine incarnation of idiots demanding felty to their utopian vision of the State. They have in this moment a ripe opportunity. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”, as the saying goes. The Woke-Right hates all the right things (and plenty more of the wrong things). Whites are increasingly sick of the racial double-standards in this country, sexual degeneracy is mainstream, our country risks losing its sovereignty should the Democrats re-take power and again allow illegals to flood the country, and identity politics has been established as the norm on the Left. Those are the cracks through which these neo-fascist snakes will try to sneak into the mainstream.
The Hendrix and Anthony cases, though vastly different in their moral weight—a crude slur versus a cold-blooded murder—expose a shared rot: an increasingly normal, gleeful tribalism, where the few, the loud, and perhaps the foreign, spew racial hatred sufficient to capture our attention and, if we’re not careful, drive us ever-closer to civil conflict. Be vigilant, bold, and honest. Demand equal standards. Maintain principal and dignity. And for the love of God, reject identity politics.
